The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a country in southwest Asia that consists of the seven emirates of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al Qaywayn. It is also known as the Federation of Emirates.
All of the emirates, except for Fujairah, are located on the Persian Gulf Coast. Fujairah is located on the Gulf of Oman.
