40% are mixed race, 20% are black and 20% are white. An additional 20% are foreign expatriates.

English is the official language. Spanish is also spoken.

68% of the people are Protestant and 13% are Catholic.

Tourism is an important industry.

The Cayman Islands are an important international center for offshore finance.

The official currency of the Cayman Islands is the Cayman Islands dollar, which equals 100 cents.
